USA – East

From the lighthouses of New England to the Jersey shores and the Appalachian Mountains, this area of the USA covers most items on travelers wish-lists.

Boston MA : One of the USA’s oldest cities, you can visit the USS Constitution or walk around the Freedom Trail or visit the Bunker Hill Monument for a panoramic view of city, sea and sky. You can also visit the original “Cheers” bar to see if they really do know your name

Providence RI: See over 100 Colonial, Federal and Revival houses on Benefit Street, the city’s “mile of history”. The Providence Riverboat Tour is a great way to see the city from a different angle. Federal Hill is known as ‘Little Italy’ and has dozens of family owned delis and restaurants.

Newport RI: With stunning examples of colonial-era buildings, Newport has America’s oldest tavern and nearby, the first synagogue. The elite rich made Newport their summer base in the early 1900’s, building huge mansions in French Chateau, Italianate Palazzo and Elizabethan Manor styles.

New York: The city so good they named it twice. See a Broadway show, head to the Top of the Rock to see great city views or escape to Central Park.

Jersey Shore: From beach resorts like Point Pleasant with their never-ending boardwalks to quieter retreats like Spring Lake, this is definitely a holiday region. Travel just a few miles inland though to find places like Allaire, a 19th Century village which is now a living history museum

Gettysburg PA: The battle fought here in 1863 marked the turning point of the American Civil War. The National Military Park shows how the battle developed. All roads from here lead to other important sites that were major markers in the war.

Memphis TN: Whether you are Walking in Memphis, looking for the Delta Blues or your Blue Suede Shoes, music is everywhere in this city. Lay down a track, just like Elvis Presley did, at Sun Studios and perhaps be discovered as the next chart-topper.

Nashville: This is were up and coming country stars want to be seen (and heard) if they have any hope of being famous. The Bluebird Café is where careers can be started if the right person is there on the night

Space Coast: The drive down Florida’s Eastern seaboard is dominated by Speedways and Space. Daytona is the birthplace of NASCAR rallying and Cape Canaveral is where you will find the Kennedy Space Centre.

Florida Keys: Life moves at a different pace on the Florida Keys, in fact it nearly comes to a full stop by the time you reach Key West, where life is so laid back its horizontal. The Keys are comprised of hundreds of island, the main ones are connected by a network of bridges.
